Important Deacon Information
Dear Members:
Please note that the Deacon Voting Forms you received indicated you had to sign, but we did not give you a place to sign. Please sign on the back. It MUST be signed to be counted. Let me remind you that we will be voting July 12 whether to change the constitution to allow women deacons. At that time you will know which list to select your five choices for deacon.
Thank you very much,
Roy Barnhill, Chairman of Deacons
A Message from Your Transitional Pastor
Their loyalties were getting in the way of their unity.
In The Different Drum, Scott Peck writes about the paradox that unity “is a safe place precisely because no one is attempting to heal or convert you, to fix you, to change you. You are free to be you . . . free to become your whole and holy self.” Like the human body, the body of Christ functions when separate parts choose to work together while maintaining their distinct character.
Note The Paradox of Unity in I Cor. 12.
Our church history is filled with many incredible agape stories carried out by God’s people.
Fervent prayer of a righteous man or woman has a powerful effect no matter what the situation, joyful or sorrowful. God is in all things. So no matter what the circumstances, all we need to do is pray.
In Eph. 4:3 and Mt. 22:36-40 we see the Building Relationships.
Peace is one of the fruits of the spirit that requires your heart to be open to God’s constant presence through the Holy Spirit. It is a critical component in establishing meaningful relationships. Through our prayers we can accept God’s help in creating bonds of peace that can lead to unity with others in the fellowship. God gave Moses 10 Commandments and Jesus came to convert them into two: Love God, and Love each other.
Let’s not let our loyalties and personal desires get in the way of our unity here at
Yours in Christ,
Dr. D. Wayne Dyer
A Message From Your Youth Minister
Wow! It seems like summer is flying by and it’s been busy thus far. It will soon be time to begin a new church year. It seems far away but in reality it’s rather close. I would like for each of us to consider how we can be more involved in our church ministries this church year—particularly our youth and children ministries. There are various opportunities to serve. We’ll need teachers for Children-in-Action in the fall. If you can’t teach please continue to pray for these ministries in the church. Please continue to pray for our youth and children. They need our support.
Children/Youth: Be on the lookout for upcoming activities.
Blessings,
April
A Message From Your Music Minister
The month of June is flying by faster than I anticipated!
The adult cantata music should be arriving any day! This fall, we will once again join with community churches in presenting "Glorious Day." If you are a choir member and wish to participate, please make sure I have your email address. The other choir directors and I are currently creating an on-line page. You will be able to visit this page through your email address. It will allow you to hear your specific part. This way, you can learn it faster.
Our first joint cantata practice will be on July 26, 2009 at Myrtle Grove. We need to be there by 2:00 p.m. I pray you will feel led to participate. God says in first Kings 8:61, "And may your hearts be fully committed to the Lord our God." It doesn't matter how many we have, what matters is that you are committed and so is your heart.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday morning as we share a special message through music with our Masonic visitors. God Bless You!
Joyfully Yours,
Thank You

Dear
Thank you so much for my “Graduate’s Bible.” I plan to use this as I venture to college and as guidance for the future. This church has witnessed me grow up from the time I was an infant. As I embark on this new journey, this Bible will be a daily reminder of
